The SOM kids made it to Israel full of faith and enthusiasm. Low on sleep. Had a good meal and got to their rooms looking forward to their first day of service. We’ll be harvesting fruit for Leket (Hebrew “gleanings”). They distribute food to the poor. Our hotel is 1.1 miles from Simon the Tanners house. If we have time this afternoon I’ll take them on a hike and ask for the other Simon.

Ignorance causes a lot of problems. If you don’t know about finances? Big problems. If you don’t know about healthy living? Big problems. There’s no reason believers should remain ignorant of policy and policy makers in NY. These voter guides are a good start. I’m calling of believers to volunteer at their local polling places. As light, salt, for integrity and honesty in our elections.
On this Memorial Day we remember those who paid the ultimate price. The great sacrifice in war, by losing their lives so others could live in freedom. As Christians, it always reminds us of the greatest Memorial Day, the day Jesus gave His life so we could live in freedom. Freedom from the enslavement of sin, freedom from the shame of sin, freedom from the penalty of sin. It reminds me of 2 scriptures;
“It is for FREEDOM, that Christ has set us free!” Galatians 5.1
“Greater love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends.” John 15.13
